The mural and mosaics were created by students from the Guilmette Middle and Elementary Schools and are installed on the front entrance of their shared school building. The theme is focused on the wildlife, flora and fauna of the Merrimack River which runs through the city of Lawrence.

Students from the East Somerville Community School created mosaic cutouts based on the theme of urban wilds in the city of Somerville.

After a devastating fire, the East Somerville Community was rebuilt. The artist worked with students of the school to create a large mural and mosaic for the new building. The mural is about the history of East Somerville and the school. In the middle a colorful phoenix rises, with its tail becoming the flags of all the immigrants that have historically come to live in East Somerville. Paul Revere rides through the mural as he rode through East Somerville in 1775 (up Broadway). The mural is located in the new gym.

The Rumney Marsh Mural Project was initially conceived by a group of middle school students who petitioned the art teacher and principal to create a mural for the lobby of the new school building. The mural wall is 13 ft. high and 22 ft. wide on a prominent curved wall. Mural artist David Fichter in collaboration with art teacher Rebecca Fellows worked with art students from grades 6-8 to conceptualize, draw, and paint a large scale permanent mural based primarily on the natural history of Rumney Marsh, namesake of the school and historical name for Revere and environs. Students, teachers, and artists developed the theme of the mural during brainstorming sessions at the beginning of the residency. The theme focused on the rich natural history of the local wildlife and habitats, as well as the history of Revere as an immigrant working class community, with the famous Revere Beach amusement parks.

The Andrews Middle School is located on a former site of 19th century Medford shipbuilders, on the banks of the Mystic River. Students made drawings with the art teacher based on Mystic River themes tracing history, flora and fauna. At the center of the mural and the town's history there is a clipper ship under full sail. Other images include Squaw Sachem (Queen of the Mistick), Paul Revere, the Middlesex Canal, shipbuilders working on a clipper ship, the herring/alewife yearly run, and many other images about Medford on the Mystic.

The mural was designed by 4 core teams of students and painted by all students in the school. The center of the mural depicts student hands holding the world, with a school walkway crossing the center, filled with students and teachers. The right side depicts teachers and students, with local landmarks in the background. The left side, depicts students exploring the world through history and science. The mural was used as the cover of a recent educational book called " Humanizing Education: Critical Alternatives to Reform".

The Canajoharie Middle School mural was created with 8th grade students and the art teacher Michelle Egleston in 2011. The theme is the rich history of this town and includes images of the Beechnut Company, native american leaders, Susan B. Anthony who taught in the town for a while, and others.

"School of Wilson" is a mural created by students from the Wilson School as part of a two year residency funded by the Massachusetts Cultural Council's Creative Schools Grant. The mural makes history curricula connections by reconfiguring period artworks and icons into contemporary imagery. The central image is a contemporary take on Raphael's mural of an idealized educational institution, "School of Athens". Students at Wilson re-imagined Raphael's "School of Athens" as their own school.

The Adams Chronicles was created by students of the Adams Memorial Middle School, during a 15 day residency. It depicts the history of the town of Adams, including images of revolutionary war leader Sam Adams (namesake of the town) and Susan B. Anthony who was born here in 1820.

The Bruce School Family Mural was designed and painted by students from grades 5 through 8. The mural highlights students and learning as well as the immigrant cultures of the City of Lawrence.

"The Legacy of Phillis Wheatley" was created by middle school students during an artist residency. Phillis Wheatley, namesake of the school, was a poet in colonial Boston who was the first African-American author of a published book of poetry. Born in West Africa, she was sold into slavery at the age of seven or eight and transported to North America, where she was bought by the Wheatley family of Boston. One of the image in the mural shows Phillis Wheatley in profile writing with a quill next to a middles school student in the same pose on a computer. Other images in the mural highlight students learning with images from the history of Roxbury in the background, including the house where African American political activist Malcolm X lived.

During a 30 day residency at the Wayland Middle School I directed core groups of students from 6th, 7th, and 8th grades in developing three designs based on themes that grew out of the curriculum and values of the school. Students presented the designs to the Wayland School Committee which chose the design that was then enlarged and transferred to a prominent exterior wall. All students in the school participated in the painting of the mural.

During an 18 day artist residency, middle school students of the F.A. Day Middle School in Newton designed and painted a mural for the front entrance based on the theme "Love of Learning".
The mural represents learning in different stages of life. It includes an image of a dragon, the school mascot, as well.

The Fletcher School Mural depicts students engaged in learning activities that reflect the culture of the school. There are also images in the background that connect with the history of the surrounding Port Neighborhood. The mural was designed and painted by students from grades 6,7, and 8 during an artist residency.

"Looking In On Learning" was designed by middle school students during an artist residency. It was painted by all students in the school. The primary image is of students peeling away the facade of the school to reveal a cutaway of students engaged in learning activities.

The Hull Middle School Mural was designed and painted by students during an artist residency. It features imagery connected with the Town Hull, including the Paragon Park, a popular amusement park that was shut down. There is also a lighthouse and ocean imagery.
